During the holiday season, I had to make so many little gifts for so many people! This year I chose to make some really nice Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Mix! It got rave reviews and it was super rich, thick, and creamy. It’s the best hot chocolate I’ve had when I mixed it with milk and marshmallows.
I followed this recipe from Nikki over at the SeededAtTheTable.com that I found on Pinterest. I used Rodelle Gourmet Baking Cocoa, 1.54 pound (affiliate link) and I think that made a big difference in how amazing it tasted!

For the recipe, first, you create the caramel.
Then you pulverize it in a food processor. I found this to be difficult. The caramel did not want to crush and got very sticky…
I had to switch from my little food processor to my super powerful Vitamix. That worked!
The rest of the process was really easy. After I had my mix, I created some simple labels and tags on my Cricut and packaged up my gifts. I etched a Dollar Tree mug to send one of my gifts and I loved it. Cute, right?
The salted caramel hot chocolate was delicious and everyone loved it! I’m not sure if I’d make this again because getting the caramel to the right consistency was messy for me but maybe that just means I need a big food processor. Oh, who am I kidding, I’m sure I will! It was scrumptious and I got a lot of compliments which always seem to erase the hard parts of making something. 🙂
